Appointments
Academic Skills Learning Advisers offer one to one 45 minutes appointment for ANU students. These can be very helpful for students throughout their studies.
At an appointment early in your honours year or coursework masters project Learning Advisers discuss how they can help you through the writing process. This may include time management, managing the project, reading literature and note taking, or writing your research proposal.
Once you start writing, appointments might cover planning your thesis structure and writing individual chapters. For these appointments, you can submit drafts of sections of your thesis so that the Learning Adviser can review your writing and give you tailored advice. At this point, generally you will have the same Adviser, who by now will be familiar with your project material.
Toward the end of the writing process, your Learning Adviser might help you develop strategies for editing your work and ensuring cohesion throughout your chapters.
For more details about our appointments and how they work please read the information on our general appointments page.
NB: Crawford School of Public Policy and Military Studies Program (Australian Command and Staff College) have their own academic support staff.
